DC Power distribution

Getting power from your alternator or chargers to all your battery banks can be complex and induce awful charge inpeding volt-drops...

Or, using Sterling's range of relays and splitting systems, we can make it as simple as you want it to be. Have a look!

ALTERNATOR REGULATOR SYSTEMS

OPTIMISE YOUR ALTERNATOR

Our range of alternator regulators are what boaters have trusted for years.

Your onboard integrated regulator is probably super basic, binary, and may not even be suitable for your batteries.

Our alternator regulators are configurable to your battery type and will improve charge performance by up to 300% (charge speed to full)

ALTERNATOR TO BATTERY CHARGERS

2-in-1 splitter and optimiser

The alternator to battery charger is the perfect system for captains that want to improve their alternators operation but don't fancy the more complicated Alternator Regulator install.

Alternator output goes directly onto the Alternator to Battery charger input, and the two outputs to your main and starter batteries- and you'll see a four stage charge profile optimising your charge speeds immediately.

PRO CHARGE ULTRA AND OTHER AC/DC CHARGERS

PERFECT CHARGE, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD (12V-48V)

Sterling has a huge range of AC/DC chargers that ensure your batteries are properly maintained, irregardless of your needs.

We have waterproof chargers (Aquanautic, Pro Sport), truly global professional grade chargers (Pro Charge Ultra series) and - for those who just need charge at their 240V moorings as quickly and inexpensively as possible... our Sibling company's range of chargers (BC series).

BATTERY TO BATTERY CHARGERS, LITHIUM COMPLIANT

THE BEST DC/DC CHARGERS ON THE MARKET - SERIOUSLY

Sterling was the first company to pioneer the use of DC/DC chargers in the marine market - and we're back again with the best DC/DC chargers you can get.

Our newest range of DC/DC chargers offer 98% efficiency, some of the highest power ratings on the market (up to 200A), are lithium suitable and current limiting chargers (to keep your alternator AND batteries happy- and your warranties..).

Did I mention that they can even change voltage bands (allowing you to charge a 24V or even 48V rear battery from a 12V alternator..) AND they have bidirectional charge features, to maintain both banks?

PURE SINE, QUASI SINE, COMBIS

POWER YOUR VESSEL (240vAC)

It's all well and good to have a 12V, 24V or 48V battery bank, but most of the equipment you know and love runs off of 240VAC power.

With Sterling's range of inverters (both Pure Sine and Quasi Sine variants available, 12V-48VDC) power is as simple as plug-and-play. A few cables and you're in action!

We also offer a range of Combis (Inverter/Chargers) for full onboard power management! One combi will look after your AC/DC charge needs AND your DC/AC onboard power needs.

SOLAR PANELS, SOLAR REGULATORS, SOLAR CONTROL

BE BRIGHT, SAIL RENEWABLE

If you fancy just being that little bit more efficient, that little bit greener, and needing that little-bit-less engine-run time... why not run solar?

Yielding power from the sun is easier than you might think and it saves you from running that noisy generator or engine when you're lying there in bliss, off the coast of Italy.

ZINC SAVERS, AC SAFETY

PROTECT YOUR BOAT... PROTECT YOURSELF.

In order for modern boat builders to comply with modern safety certifications, your vessels shoreline earth must be common to your boats earth.

On the one hand, this is great. It stops you from becoming an electrical conduit if anything goes wrong. On the other hand, your boat (and every vessel around you) are now common on the same circuit. Any earth problem on any boat or shore earth will increase the voltage in the common earth cable- adversely affecting your boat by dissolving your anodes at an alarming rate (this could result in the total loss of all the metal on the boat below the waterline).

A zinc saver/galvanic isolator is the sensible decision for literally any boat - 'cause who wants a rusty bottom?

AC CROSSOVER SWITCHES, AUTOMATIC/MANUAL

A/C CROSSOVER SWITCHES

When you have an inverter, an AC in-line from Shore, and a generator all available to output on the same circuit- you need a system that allows you to decide just one at a time.

Putting an AC shoreline and a generator or an inverter on the same AC circuit at the same time can cause catastrophic damage to AC equipment and an early visit to the technician - who will promptly point out that this is not within warranty.

A/C crossover switches allow you to choose which line is in use, one at a time- or, if you choose the automatic crossover switch... Well, then it does it for you.
